Hajimi
Katate ayamochi Ikkajo Osae Ichi
Cross wrist grasp First control pin #1
- when Shite shuffle O/L and control Uke's arm, Uke should;
- go down on inside knee, inside foot should remain up on toes
- outside knee remains up and whole foot on mat
- other arm should be inside and foward of outside knee with hand on mat,
- hand on mat should be turned toward Shite, this angle will allow elbow to bend rather than locked arm which could jam as slide forward
- Shite's knee should maintain contact with Uke's armpit as C/S forward to apply pin. Uke's movement should be to lower self down. Uke should avoid pushing forward with bent inside knee. As Uke lowers self, outside knee should go to mat and than slide both feet back to release energy
- Uke should provide a constant resistance (pull or push) however when technique being executed, relax the body and avoid tighten up the body. Learning the technique will be easier on both partners.
