Yoshinkan Aikido techniques seek to redirect the energy and body movement of an attacker. Aikido is therefore, a non-aggressive, defensive martial art form with emphasis on cooperation rather than competition, and it's fun.

Aikido training is for everyone, visit us during one of our classes and see for yourself! Learning Aikido is an excellent way to get in shape, and learn an effective self-defense, in a friendly non-competitive environment.

Students learn through exercises designed to teach balance, co-ordinated movement, and timing. These include basic movements, techniques with partners, and with multiple attackers, as well as weapons training with a Jo, Bokken, and Tanto.
